A presentation for my book "Image and Society" is available online at the Protagon portal. The presentation/critique is written by my colleague at the Sociology Department at Panteion University, Associate Professor Anna Lydaki, and is available in Greek. An attempt to translate it will be made soon.

It is through vision that we are constantly connected to the world. This may be the reason why -since antiquity- philosophers condemned vision as prone to fault: prone to illusion. Being constant, obvious, and self-evident, image is beyond thought, unless it is mechanically created. Even then, though, we are keen to doubt its honesty, its authenticity, to doubt about the truth of its obviousness.
